Hello and welcome again! I was MIA again....sorry. Big sorry. 😔 Life has not slowed down for me to even catch a break or even a breath!  BUT this Monday I want to share Jen Boss of Boss Equine Design Studios!!!  I have LOVED Jen's work and was one of the first artists I was following when I started customizing! So her work is not only admirable, but also has been inspiring since the beginning for me. Soft bold colours and uniqueness in every piece is everything thats pleasing to the eye, and she can make any horse look good in any colour. The artistry combined creates such a believable, beautiful, and brimming with created lifelikeness is sincerely fantastic!!! And its not just my opinion either, its a well known fact for many in the hobby! Several people commission this wonderful, friendly artist to paint their horses and I just know that I would love a model to grace my shelf one day. While I am not a fan of decorator pieces, I REALLY like hers and so maybe I need two piece...

Hello friends! I apologize for my silence lately ~ I was not able to get my Artist of the Week gathered in time last week and this week I have not heard back from the artists I contacted. So please bear with me ~ I plan on getting this rolling for you guys. :)      But how about I share my Best Customs Contest horse? I know many of you probably have seen him. I'm sorry if you are tired of seeing him. I am so excited about him however and I am actually still shocked I finished him * just in time *      May was a long and very hard month for me. June has been not much better with losing a dear pet and dealing with * anxiety * with the BF craze to get ready for my Artisan Gallery! The good news is that ALL commissions in house are FINISHED. Now I can focus solely on those secret ponies and when they are done, I'll give myself a breather to enjoy summer and maybe paint some of my own ponies that have been waiting patiently....before ...

Welcome back to Artist of the Week!!! I'd love to introduce you to Joanna Dueck of Conveyor 12 Studios! 💖 Joanna is a fellow Canadian "Canuck" artist, and she is a treasure to the community. I know FOR SURE when I see a photo of her work. She can paint everything from Traditionals to micro, and medallions! She even paints COWS ~ which I absolutely adore as they are so realistic! Everything is so spot on, with a punch pack of detail and the shading on every horse is impeccable. This is extremely hard to do, but really, she makes it look effortless. (I for one know it is not always behind the scenes) She can catch both the softness and brilliance of the many coats of colours horses have, and that is the shine of a true artist at work. I truly think she deserves more recognition in the hobby for her skill. But it is wonderful to have a talented friend in the same country as me. XD I sincerely need a piece painted by her here with me, so one day I hope to have it happen. I...

Finally back on track (I hope!) This Artist of the Week is....Elizabeth Halperin!  Elizabeth is nothing short of talented. I seriously am always mind blown by her creativity and dedication to being realistic. (and perfect, because we artists are our own worst critics) I remember when she first came out creating, and was taking the drastic resculpting world by a storm. She's still a storm, but a good one that I want to see keep booming. I appreciate seeing the enthusiasm for drastics and seeing their place in the world of model horses. Its not just that they are drastic, but she has an eye for bringing out the best elements and poses in the sculpts she creates. I really like how she sculpt wrinkles. I'm a weirdo maybe in this aspect, but good wrinkles and hair flow is quite exceptional for me. 😂 And she can PAINT. Her painting skills go hand in hand, and its great to see how good she is with bright, well toned colour. Her micro work is to die for.... so very lovely. Her eage...

Life lately has been happening.  Let me say that again.  I apologize for the lack of activity. Two weeks of no Artist of the Week and I've had some folks ask me if I'd stopped already, which I suddenly and painfully remembered my forgotten blog at the moment.  I haven't stopped whatsoever, in fact, I'm determined to march on. The last 3 weeks for myself has been chaotic to the point there's almost no painting going on. Commissions, BF sale pieces, and my BCC horses slid to a halt. I mentally could not hold a brush after everything that was going on. But I'm working on changing that, one step at a time. First off, my colt was moved to his new home and I stayed a few days to watch over him to help him settle in, which went real well actually, until I had started working with him again in the new place. We hit a very large bump with our training and it/he knocked me off my feet, quite literally. I have now to seek some professional help with his newfound aggressi...

Hello! Today I am wanting to share Wiktoria of Mibiam studio. 💜 She is a up and coming sculptor in this hobby and I am so excited for this wonderful talented artist who is growing and learning that includes her fan club with her in the trying process of complicated matters of artistry. From creating to casting, the learning process in which I've been watching her grow and its inspiring how she navigates it.  And her horses are so amazing and full of character, that are a wonderful addition to the hobby. I will never believe that there are too many sculptors in this hobby, and that there is room for any person who is working on a dream and wanting to share their creations they worked so hard on. Wiktoria is a prime example, and I am very eager to see where she goes with her talented 3D and hand sculpted creations. Her style is unique to her own, and I know when I see a picture of her work. She has an eye for different, unique, and the detail in her sculptures is astounding!  A...

Its Friyay ~ and Emily Prouse of Caletto Studios is the reason why today!           Emily is a starting out UK based artist that does such beautiful work that flourishes with details. Soft subtle dappling with crisp markings is always eye catching and she knows how to do just that. I sincerely love her Valegro custom with mohair that is so well done. I will one day have to have a model done by her to grace my shelf of customs! I sincerely look forward to how far she goes as she has a great start and will certainly go places, whether she paints for fun or takes it into a serious direction. What I also like is just how she enjoys working and painting these ponies, and pours in what she has of what is possible to paint. Its easy to see the evidence of...
